Toch maar niet
Toch maar niet impeachen die Bush. En Cheney ook niet. Gewoon laten uitzitten en daarna keihard het gevang in. Bij deze dan ook maar het zwarte bandje in de hoek weg.
I'm all for impeachment and REMOVAL, but I'm cautious. Clinton was impeached, but then acquitted in the Senate. The result is, he was able to use the acquittal to remain in office (for the better, IMO). Despite the Republicans who inevitably bring up the famous blowjob and the subsequent perjury over it, Clinton was in fact acquitted, meaning all of your accusations are in legal terms false. For someone who is acquitted of, say, murder, there's this legal term called "innocent."
I don't want to see that happen with Bush. I don't want to see him get off, because that's worse than not impeaching him at all. If we impeach, he must then be convicted or it was all a waste of time. Unlike Nixon, Bush will not resign if simply impeached, and especially not if he's acquitted in the Senate. He will simply run out the clock and change nothing.
The only way to remove him from office is to honestly and dilligently gather the evidence, as Leahy and Schumer are doing until such point as there is enough to convince 10-16 Republicans (plus one more to make up for Lieberman) that removal is the only way to deal with this President. That will only happen when the people, especially the constituents of those 16 Senators, demand it.
