De Terri Schiavo-memo was echt
Herinnert u zich het nog? Enkele weken geleden was er een memo uitgelekt waarin de Schiavo-zaak een populariteits-voordeeltje zou kunnen opleveren voor het GOP (de Bush-partij). En inderdaad, Bush kwam in actie. Tegelijkertijd kwamen de conservatieve media in actie om de memo als vals neer te sabelen.
Republikeins senator Bennett: "I've never seen it, and nobody ever gave it to me [...] As far as I'm concerned, it is an invention of the press."
Woordvoerdster van andere senator: ". "No one in our office has seen it, nor had anything to do with its creation."
Newxmax: "Closer examination by The American Spectator, talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, The Weekly Standard, and Accuracy in Media (AIM) indicates that the memo is a fraud a political dirty trick, if you will, specifically aimed at causing public revulsion at Republicans."
Rush Limbaugh: "Truth Detector: Supposed GOP Schiavo Memo Forged by Democrats."
De Michelle Malkin-tut: "I suspect that no one at the Post or ABC News still believes the amateurish, unsigned, misspelled memo was circulated by Republican Party leaders"
Deze en nog veel conservatieven die moord, brand en vervalsing blren zijn liefdevol samengevat in een logje van AMERICAblog getiteld
I love when conservative bloggers make asses of themselves
Waarom deze titel? Republikeinse senator Martinez (Florida) geeft toe dat 'iemand' van zijn departement de memo heeft geschreven en verspreid.

En ja hoor, justice is done. Mel Martinez ontslaat zijn juridisch adviseur (expandable) en neemt zelf hard foei roepend afstand.
Prachtig schouwspel. Ik kan me het gesprek met "senior staffer" Brian Darling al helemaal voorstellen, vrij naar Blackadder;
"I am sorry, but you have to go down for me, Darling". "Take the bullet for me, Darling" "I need you to do this for all Republicans, Darling." etc, etc.
