Rove (handing Bush a 4x6 card with instructions written on it in sharpie pen): Ok, this bit is really important: as you walk towards the cameras, make sure you get real close to the firefighters, and as they're about to take the picture, start rolling your sleeves up. It's kind of allegorical.
Bush: Ali who?
Rove (slaps forefead): never mind. Just do what it says on the fucking card, ok?

"As specific orders began arriving to the firefighters in Atlanta, a team of 50 Monday morning quickly was ushered onto a flight headed for Louisiana. The crew's first assignment: to stand beside President Bush as he tours devastated areas." - Salt Lake Tribune

" On Monday, some firefighters stuck in the staging area at the Sheraton peeled off their FEMA-issued shirts and stuffed them in backpacks, saying they refuse to represent the federal agency." - Salt Lake Tribune

"For four days, a C-130 transport plane ready to lift emergency supplies to Katrina victims has stood idle at the Satenas air force base in southern Sweden. [...] "We have to get some kind of signal (from the United States) in the next few days," said Karin Viklund of the Swedish Rescue Services Agency. "We really hope we will get it." " - CBS News

"a man from the Evergreen Foundation was on air spinning the myth that the President had to "beg" the Governor of Louisiana to take action." - TPM Cafe

"Fox News [...] report[ed] that Nagin had proceeded with the mandatory evacuation "only after President Bush insisted that he do so." [feeding a myth] that Bush's phone call triggered the decision to evacuate." - Media Matters

"All of the reporters are turning [their] TV trucks around. Things are so bad, Bush is now censoring all reporting from NOLA." - Operation Flashlight

"Bush said Tuesday he will oversee an investigation into what went wrong and why - in part to be sure that the country would withstand more storms or even a weapons of mass destruction attack." - MSNBC Video

Katrina and the Waves volgens Google
